With all the hype around buying art for a financial investment, you shouldn’t overlook the emotional returns that your collection brings. You may be the lucky collector who frequents the international art fairs and auctions with big name( “blue chip”) artists. Or instead, you may be the noble patron “common-man” of the arts, spending what you can on supporting the community of regional, or unlisted original art, local music and craft fairs.
Don’t grieve that you don’t have super valuable art. Celebrate that you have found a way to connect your life with art!
If you are so lucky to inherit a collection of regional art from a parent, you should feel very proud that your loved one was so generous and moved by the arts.
